General Consensus

Using all of my research, the general consensus amongst both the literature community and the rest of society is that the books are usually better than the film. However, this is not to say that literature is ruined by technology. Book adaptations often boost the market for the original book and draw popularity from audiences that otherwise wouldn't be accessed.

My overall conclusion would be that film doesn't ruin literature as book aren't often ruined when taken to the screen. Usually, they are enhanced and attract a wider audience.
